Should you use a nicotine inhaler to help you to quit smoking? It is another potential trick in your arsenal of quitting smoking tricks that you can try, so it probably will not hurt to give it a shot.
You can look at this in two ways, and you should probably do so if you really want to quit smoking. The first way to look at it is that you are still smoking cigarettes, and the cost of continuing to do so is basically infinite. You need to quit smoking at all costs. If it cost you five thousand dollars today to quit smoking forever, and be assured you would never smoke again, that would be a bargain. That would actually be a great deal. Most people do not see it that way because they are in denial about the true cost of smoking and how much it is taking away from them. But if you place a high value on one year of your life, then the cost of smoking is outrageously high. You should stop at nothing to quit.
So the first way to look at it is that you need to try anything and everything that might help you. If you have never tried quitting with an inhaler before, then do so. Try it. If it fails, try something else. Never stop trying to quit. To do so is to sign your own death warrant. If you keep smoking you will die early. If you quit now you may enjoy a much longer life.
The other way to look at it is that this is a nicotine product, and it attempts to “help” you quit by delivering an addictive substance into your body. This is bad. In fact, many people have argued that nicotine replacement products do not actually help anyone to quit, and are really there just to make money on their own. People who are addicted to smoking generally try to use these products, and many of them will return to smoking, but then also return to use more nicotine products. Folks, this is a money making machine and the nicotine replacement industry is a multi-billion dollar a year industry. It makes money because it does not really work. If it did, they would make a lot less money overall.
Now of course it does work for some people. We all know someone who quit using the patch or whatever. But cold turkey works too, and may have worked in those cases even better than the nicotine products.
